This article is gonna show you how to get free Starbucks coffee! I have done some of these hacks personally myself. Make sure to bookmark this post to come back to it later, in case you forget some of the steps outlined here.
This is where it all started…
First off, I am a total Starbucks addict. I admit it.
My first introduction to coffee drinks was at age 18. An older friend of mien took me to a small drive thru cafe and ordered me something. It was a less sweeter version of a Starbucks frapp and it was delish.
Since then, I have been hooked.
And, today, Starbucks is on every corner including across the street from where I live. And, it was in my office when I worked my 9 to 5 for 7 years. Yes, a full fledged Starbucks store, not a kiosk or stand. A full Starbucks store with Starbucks workers, where you could buy drinks, food, gifts, etc. Legit.
So from every corner, Starbucks has had it out for me, haha.
What’s my drink of choice?
It really changes based on my mood or the season.
I’m not a die hard pumpkin spice fanatic though I do drink it when it’s season on occasion.
Most of the year I get a Soy Chai Tea Latte.
Chai is a black tea and it has spices like cardamom and cinnamon. It’s a spicy tea and when you mix it with milk (soy milk for my drink), it’s a creamy, frothy, hearty beverage that warms you. I even drink it in the summer and I got my husband hooked on it.
I’m not for the sugary frapps or espresso drinks.

- Caramel macchiato
- Caramel frappuccino
- Vanilla bean frappuccino
- Passion fruit tea lemonade (still get this sometimes during summer)

Pro Tip: You want to make sure you are signed up to the app at least 30 days before your birthday. The birthday freebie offer is available on the day of your birthday only.

This is a company that collects reviews for software, like:
- ConvertKit
- Bluehost
- Canva
- GoDaddy
All you do is write a review.
They ask you a series of questions about your experience, what you use the software for, how long you’ve been using it, etc.
I’ve taken a few of these and it takes around 5 minutes each.
Really easy.
And, they award you Starbucks gift cards!
This one is either $5 or $10 gift card but, you can get them over and over for up to $50-$100, I think.
I get emails from these guys all the time inviting me to take more surveys.
4. G2 Crowd
This is like Capterra and was actually the first company I started with.
These guys do $10 Starbucks gift cards. I think you can choose different retailers too, like Amazon, etc.
I have gotten like $100 worth of Starbucks gift cards. I can show you screenshots of zeroed out gift cards from my Starbucks app haha.
Once you do your review and they approve it, you’ll get the e-gift card almost instantly.
This used to be one of the highlights of my work day. Getting the e-gift card.

Ok, so we’ve talked about this above for getting free Starbucks but I just wanna highlight again, that you can use the app to save money.
For example, this first no brainer, order ahead.
How does this save money?
You won’t be caught in line looking at the menu or bakery display case so there’s less of an opportunity to make an extra buy.
This happens to me.
If I go to Starbucks not knowing what I want in advance or not ordering ahead then, I almost certainly over-order.
The app can save with this.
Other ways to save on Starbucks with the Starbucks app?
Take advantage of their events.
Like this week, they had BOGO coffee drinks.
That means me and hubby can go in and get two-for-one on a coffee drink.
That’s 50% off and they have events like this all the time, throughout the year!
They even have sales to honor the military, back to school, holidays, and more.
And..pay with the app for free in-store drip coffee and tea refills!
7. Get it on Groupon
Groupon often has Starbucks gift cards for HALF OFF!
So you buy a $10 gift card for 5 bucks!
Or, buy a $20 gift card for a cool $10!
I have done this and absolutely love it.

Iced Coffee
Price: Tall, $2.25, Grande, $2.65, Venti, $2.95
This is one of the cheapest things on the menu AND you can add vanilla or caramel flavors for no extra cost.
Hot Coffee
Price: Tall, $1.85, Grande, $2.10, Venti, $2.45
I think this is the cheapest coffee drink on the menu. Pike Place is my favorite and a popular pick as they usually ALWAYS have it on hand. My dad and sis love the blonde roast but I’m more of a medium roast or bold kinda girl.
DIY Iced Latte for under $2
Get an Espresso over ice for $1.75 then head to the coffee bar and add your own milk and flavor (they have powdered flavorings, sweetener, etc.)
Get More Tea for Your Money
When you order iced tea, ask for no water and get more tea for your money!
Or, ask for light ice or no ice.
At fast food restaurants, like Starbucks, they load your drink with ice, which means less drink. So..ask for light or no ice!
Ask for French Press-Made
Ask for your coffee to be made in a french press and the rumor is, it saves you half!
The Cheap Matcha Drink Hack Baristas Are Mad At (it’s $.80)
This one rings in UNDER $1!
Order two scoops of matcha in ice water. Then go to the coffee bar and add milk. Easy iced matcha latte!

Order a Venti drink. Ask for two cups and split with a friend. 50% off, easy!
BONUS: Get the short size
It’s on the secret menu and it’s even smaller than the Tall and a great way to save money, for those who get a tall and don’t drink it all (like me sometimes). Save about $.40 ordering a short.
